Our Story

Advantage Early Learning Academy is owned by New Republic Industries LLC. The company was formed in 2018 by the Weigand family. Three brothers came together and decided to open and invest in a business of their own. The very first venture was to acquire My Second Home Early Learning School a daycare located in Columbus, Ohio.

My Second Home was a business that started in the home of it original owner. The original owner put in the time, studied, and pushed to create and own a daycare facility. All the hard work and effort paid off when they opened My Second Home.

In 2018,  New Republic Industries acquired My Second Home and immediately got to work preparing the business for its next chapter of its life cycle. The company has now become Advantage Early Learning Academy (AELA).

In 2019, AELA expanded the south Columbus location to include an entire school age center in order to meet the demand of our Columbus Ohio families, in need of affordable high quality daycare.

In 2020, AELA identified a need during the COVID-19 pandemic for child care services. The company acquired A+ Early Learning School in Marysville Ohio, that was formed in 1998.  AELA MV has been a great opportunity and provides a modern, clean, educational environment for our Marysville Ohio Families.

In 2022, AELA expanded our childcare services to Gahanna Ohio. AELA acquired the location in Gahanna that was once KinderCare and LCD Academy. Our daycare company looks to make the Gahanna location a wonderful destination for children and families in the East Columbus area.

The managing partner, Scott Weigand and his wife Jennifer are passionate about providing a quality education for ALL children. Jennifer Weigand has been in education for over 15+ years as a teacher, and trainer in the central Ohio area. Jennifer holds a BA in Education, and a MEd in leadership. Scott Weigand had been an executive for several established companies over his previous 18+ years. The two along with the other Weigand family members felt that a child care facility was a perfect fit and aligned with our passionate for education.

This is a family business built on the concept of helping families. AELA's administration and staff are excited about the future journey ahead.
